Call for scores 2018

~Nois saxophone quartet competition

The Chicago Composers’ Consortium announces a call for scores for its upcoming collaboration with ~Nois [noissaxophone.com]. The winning composition will be programmed by ~Nois in the Consortium concert on June 2, 2019 as part of the Frequency Series at Constellation Chicago. There will also be a small stipend offered for travel to the winning composer. A concert recording will be made for the winner’s personal use.

Timing: works may not exceed 6-8 minutes.
Submissions MUST be for the entire ensemble.
Submissions may have had prior performance or recording. A single movement of a larger work may be submitted for consideration of that movement as the piece.
Entry fee is $15 to be paid via the link on the CCC website. The fee must be paid before the application will be considered.

Submission details

  • PDF file of the score (labeled LASTNAME_COMPOSITIONTITLE.pdf)
  • A separate pdf with composition name, a link to an online file or stream of audio of the piece, composer’s contact details, bio and short program note (file name: LASTNAME_FIRST_INFO.pdf)
  • if no link to audio is available, an mp3 of piece (labeled LASTNAME_COMPOSITIONTITLE.pdf)

Please zip all files and send as one zip file to scores@c3composers.org. Include any external links (soundcloud, etc.) in the body of your email. Click here for help with zipping files.

Application fee: $15, payable here (link becomes active August 18)
Review of scores will commence after receipt of payment. Digital submission only, please.

Deadline: October 15, 2018.

Final decision to be made by December 15, 2018.
